Some thoughts on how people orient in the present quotidian
Earlier today, I was thinking about how people have a sort of "home base" in time.
π‘
A working definition of home base in time: β A time period that a person lives through that establishes (for better or for worse) the working model of what is "normal."
The home base in time is the time that all subsequent times are (unconsciously) compared to see how normal or abnormal they are, how familiar or foreign they are, how good or bad they are, and so forth.
It seems that this idea, what I'm calling a "home base in time," might significantly influence how people orient themselves in and relate to their present quotidian existence.
Right now, this is just a fragment of an idea. I wanted to write it down here before it slid away from my grasp and became something I wouldn't remember.
