Repetition, return, & connections becoming clear

A paragraph I enjoyed a lot from Craig Mod's TBOT.

Had you told us back then, that the key to it all lay and deliberate repetition, we would have never believed you. But it's true. It's through re-walking that I've come to realize the only true walk is the re-walk. You cannot know a place without returning. And even then, once isn't enough. It is only through time and distance and effort --concerted, present effort, controlled attention, a gentle and steady gaze upon it all– that you begin to understand certain connections. That the shape of old paths becomes clear.

Well said!

Reading this as a psychoanalyst, I find the way Mod writes about repetition and return to be very interesting.
